Counseling for Foreclosure Prevention & Financial Sustainability
HCG reaches beyond the initial stages of homeownership by providing Counseling for Foreclosure Prevention and Financial Sustainability. While HCG does not offer direct financial assistance or pay mortgages, our HUD-Certified counselors empower homeowners through counseling, education, and lender negotiation support to help families and individuals avoid foreclosure and build lasting stability.

This service is ideal for homeowners facing difficulties with making their mortgage payment on time, and those who want to ensure a sustainable financial future to avoid situations that create the possibility of foreclosure. Outreach areas include the following North Carolina counties: Guilford, Alamance, Davidson, Randolph, Forsyth, and Rockingham.
Free. There is no fee for our Foreclosure Prevention Counseling.
Step 1: Complete the registration form within the “Register Here” tab. The form will include a checklist of documents you will need to gather in preparation for the next step.
Step 2: An intake processor will reach out, within 3 business days of registration, to schedule a 20 minute intake session. Please have your checklist of documents ready and available at this session to move forward. The need for assistance and next steps are dependent on gathering all required documents in a timely manner.
Step 3: Our HUD-Certified Counselor will review your information and schedule an appointment with you to discuss recommendations. During this session our counselor will review your concerns, gather relevant history and goals, and provide recommended direction. This session requires approximately 1-hour.
