Foreclosure Prevention & Financial Sustainability Counseling
HCG reaches beyond the initial stages of homeownership, providing guidance with Foreclosure Prevention and Financial Sustainability Counseling. Our HUD-Certified counselors and advocates can assist clients in evaluating foreclosure PREVENTION options. HCG is available to assist homeowners facing difficulties with making their mortgage payment on time in Guilford County and surrounding counties.

- HCG has a streamlined approach to help its clients figure out the best solution for their mortgage payment difficulties by researching loan modification options or recommending other long-term alternatives. We also educate clients on better budgeting and money management skills to avoid future issues.
- HCG continues to monitor foreclosure trends and provides counseling with the goal of helping families stay in their homes.
- Housing Consultants Group is a HUD certified housing counseling agency. We offer counseling services for first time buyers, current homeowners, and individuals in need of credit help.
Costs: There is no fee for our Foreclosure Prevention Services.
Length: 1 initial intake session; 1 or more counseling sessions. Sessions may be virtual, by telephone or in person and each session is by appointment only.

Our Services Depend on Your Unique Situation. Services We May Offer:
- 1-on-1 Counseling and Support
- Assist Clients Demonstrating an Unplanned Financial Hardship
- Clients who are Severely Delinquent on Mortgage Payments also Eligible
- Help Clients Obtain a Modification or Other Long-Term Solutions
- May Refer Clients to Other Agencies with Appropriate Supportive Community Programs or Solutions.
- Services Approved and Funded by HUD and the NC Housing Finance Agency
