Individual Development Account (IDA) Program
Classes are taught by professionals in the Real Estate, Lending, and Banking professions, to help participants become well-informed, educated consumers. Participation requirements include attending monthly group education sessions, one-on-one Success Coaching/Counseling, and committing to monthly savings and budgeting.
The IDA Program is a comprehensive 6–12-month financial education series which meets monthly on a virtual platform. The program is designed for potential home buyers that are within 1 year of being mortgage ready.
- Classes Taught by Licensed and Trusted Real Estate, Lending, and Banking Professionals
- Monthly Group Education Sessions Are Required
- 1-on-1 Success Coaching and Counseling Also Required
- Participants Must Commit to a Monthly Savings and Budgeting Plan
- Analysis of Individual/Household Budgeting Plan and How to Manage Monthly Financials
- Minimum Credit Score Required 580-600+
- Course Registration is Required
After successful program completion, participants may be eligible to receive matching dollars to personal savings, which can be applied to the purchase of their first home. The matching dollars are up to $2,000 in High Point only. Other areas in Guilford County are eligible for Downpayment Assistance. Costs: This class is available at no charge for homebuyers purchasing in Greensboro and High Point. There is a $100 fee for attendees purchasing a home outside of Greensboro and High Point.
